ZEN EVENT

On October 13th we enjoyed an intimate gathering at the home of Michael & Katharine Haggiag honoring Peter's contribution to Zen practice. The event featured a Dharma Talk given by Engu Roshi of the Ocean Zendo, as well as a selection of passages gathered from Peter’s Zen literature, read by members of the sangha who knew in best. Peter's journey into Zen Buddhism brought him to many years journeying the mental landscape as well as time spent in monasteries in California, New York and Japan. He eventually led him to become eventually a Zen Master or “Roshi” - a journey he accounted in two books: The Snow Leopard and Nine-Headed Dragon River. “Muryo Roshi” would go on to lead a group of dedicated worshippers in his Zendo for nearly thirty-years.
